Ingredients

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 tsp each salt and pepper
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 green pepper, optional chopped
  • 28 oz tomato puree
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • 14.8 oz diced tomatoes
  • 15.8 oz dark red kidney beans rinsed
  • 15.8 oz red kidney beans rinsed
  • 15.8 oz cannellini beans rinsed
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 Tbs chili powder
  • 1 pkg Carroll Shelby's Chili mix I like to use half the pack
  • salt and pepper taste

Instructions

  • Prep: In a large dutch oven, heat the olive oil. Add the turkey, onion, pepper, salt, and pepper and sautee and 7 mins or until cooked through.
Now add all other ingredients and cook on low heat for about an hour so all of the flavors will incorporate together for a flavorful meal.
On an added note, you can make this dish as hot or as mild as you like. Sometimes I'll add sriracha sauce to mine, or at least in my bowl when I'm serving those that do not like hot foods.
Once done, enjoy one of the best meals you have had. You can serve this with shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions. Also pair it with tortilla chips, saltine crackers or as we in the South like to do, serve with cornbread, a.k.a. hushpuppies
