About two years ago I started my journey with essential oils. More specifically Young Living Essential Oils. Along this journey, I have learned a lot and am even more determined to live a more natural lifestyle. It is so important, I believe, to help us live a longer, better life.
A little about why I started using Young Living Essential Oils. I have always had major sinus problems and had heard all of these amazing things about using Young Living but kept thinking that it’s just too good to be true. I had a friend who is into Young Living come over and explain the use of essential oils and all of the wonderful benefits. I was still a little hesitant because it is a big step and to some, even myself, a little expensive. More on that later. I finally decided to take the plunge and try Young Living. I have not looked back since.
The cost of Young Living products may be a little more than you might want to spend but when you start to break it down and compare to store products, Young Living is more cost efficient and safer.
One of my most favorite products of Young Living is the Thieves Household Cleaner. I myself, like so many others, do not like to always use store-bought cleaners as they can cause allergic reactions, sneezing, and watery eyes. Many parents also do not like to use toxic cleaners around their small children.
Now, for the best part that I am excited to finally share with you. The many ways that you can ditch and switch products in your home.
All-Purpose Cleaner
1 capful of cleaner + 1 quart of water in a spray bottle. I like to add a drop or two of lemon essential oil as well.
Deep Clean Scrub
Combine baking soda with a little bit of Thieves Household Cleaner to create a paste, apply with cleaning cloth and scrub with brush. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe clean.
Wood Floor Cleaner
5 drops of Citrus Fresh essential oil + 2 capfuls of Thieves Household cleaner + 1 cup of olive oil + 1 gallon of warm water. Combine and clean floors.
Glass & Mirror Cleaner
1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner + 5 drops of lemon essential oil + 1 tsp white vinegar. Add all together in a 16 oz spray bottle and finish filling up with water.
Wood Furniture
2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner + 20 drops of your favorite essential oil + 1 cup olive oil. Add it all to a 16 oz spray bottle and fill with distilled water.
Bathroom Cleaner
1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner + 2 Tbs of liquid castile soap + 6 oz peroxide + 4 drops of lavender essential + 4 drops of lemongrass essential oil. Again, add all to a 16 oz spray bottle and finish filling with water.
Heavy Degreaser
2 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner + 16 oz of water in a spray bottle.
I love the look of the amber, glass spray bottles when mixing your own cleaning solution.
Another of my favorite ditch and switch is the Thieves Hand Sanitizer. It has just been approved by the FDA to be called a sanitizer instead of hand purifier. My hands would always burn or even break out at times from the store bought hand sanitizers because of the alcohol or perfume fragrance. The Thieves Hand Sanitizer is by far one of the best purchases ever.
If you are even slightly interested in the ditch and switch and would like to know more or are ready to sign up to Young Living be sure to leave a comment below.
Blessings!!
