Have you ever wanted to try something new and outside of the box? To do that extraordinary feat that most of your life you have been afraid of? For most of my life I have not been an adventurer, that is my mom’s area, who for the record skydived, by herself. Over the past few years though, I have stepped out of my comfort zone to become more of an adventure lover. Every time that we’ve been on vacation the past few years, I have made it a priority to try something new. In 2015, my dad and I experienced our first ever plane ride and in 2016 my cousins, brother and I paddle boarded for the first time. I must say that both experiences were quite exhilarating.
I still have a few things that I absolutely want to try over the next few summers. Though not quite ready to conquer skydiving, I do want to hang glide. That is probably the one at the top of my to do list. I think it would be awe-inspiring to be gliding and seeing the beauty of God’s creations. There is an awesome place at the Outer Banks and Beaufort, North Carolina called Kitty Hawk Kites that offers tandem hang gliding. They have so many other adventures to offer like kiteboarding and parasailing. A couple of the things I want to try are mountain ventures. I would love to try ziplining. Just now realizing that most of the things I want to try deal with flying through the air. These are the top, out there experiences I want to try in the coming summers. I would love to hear what some of your out of the box adventures you want to try.
With all of that said, summer should be spent with family and friends making memories and not blowing the budget. North Carolina, and I am sure where you live too, has many things to offer when it comes to doing activities and not spending a lot of money.
One idea is outdoor concerts. There are many good, local groups in North Carolina to listen to. Especially beach and country music or go with the kids to a museum to take in the local heritage.
Some other family friendly summer activities are going to the movies or having a camp out in the back yard with smore’s to finish off the night, delicious! An even better idea would be to join these to together and have a movie night while camping out back. When growing up my mom would set us up in the playroom with a tent made out of sheets. Which was always a blast. Also a great alternative if it’s too hot outside.
The possibilities are endless, especially in my home state. Always remember to find the beauty in all things around you and don’t forget to live in the moment and make memories with loved ones. Laugh this summer, love greater and always try to be a little kinder. Let’s live life to the fullest and smile often!! Make the summer of 2019 one for your family’s history book.
Oh yeah, I would love for you to share some of your summer bucket list ideas.
Blessings always!!
