May 23, 2026…
What started as a completely normal day turned into the absolute worst day of my life.
I never woke up that morning thinking that by the end of the day, my life would be changed forever. I never imagined I would have to say goodbye to my mom—especially not so unexpectedly. But on May 23, 2026, my mom went home to Heaven.

I still find myself thinking, How can this be real? There are moments when I want to share the most recent happenings, send her a silly text, tell her something funny, ask her a question, or just hear her voice. Then reality hits all over again, and I remember that she isn’t here.
Losing my mom has left a hole in my heart that I know will never be filled in quite the same way. There are good days and really hard days. There are moments when I can smile at a memory, and moments when the tears come without warning. Grief is strange like that. You can be doing okay one minute and completely undone the next.
But even in the heartbreak, I have something that gives me hope.
I know where my mom is.
She is in Heaven.
And because of that, I know this isn’t goodbye forever. It’s just goodbye for now. One day, I will see my mom again.
Until then, I want to remember her. I want to share the stories, the laughter, the lessons, and the little things that made her, her. I want to talk about the woman she was, the love she gave, and the impact she had on all of us who were blessed enough to know her.
So this is where I’m beginning—with a broken heart, a grateful heart, and a whole lot of love for my mom.
This is her story. And in many ways, it’s also the story of learning how to live with grief while holding tightly to the hope of Heaven.
Blessings always, Amanda
