Happy September!!!
Who doesn’t love a quick and easy craft? And a fall craft at that?! I cannot wait to share this one with you.
I made this one last year but loved it so much and the Dollar Tree had the same pumpkin this year, I just had to make it again and share it with you. Let’s get started!!!
SUPPLIES:
- dimensional wooden pumpkin, from Dollar Tree
- fall cardstock of choice, I used a neutral, botanical print
- acrylic paint of choice, I used white
- mod podge
- brush and sponge brush
- twine
- leaf/flower for decoration
Step 1:
First, we are going to trace out the center and two sides of our dimensional pumpkin. To do this, lay the cardstock of choice upside down on the pumpkin, there is a video of how I did this. Very carefully you will trace the three sections for your pumpkin. And then cut them out.
STEP 2:
Before getting started with the next step, you will need to take the raffia bow off that comes on the pumpkin…
Cont. with step 2:
Now that the cardstock is cut out and ready, we can paint the pumpkin. Use the paint color of your choice. I chose to go with a neutral tone time and used white paint. I thought it would go well with the cardstock I chose.
STEP 3:
Now that the paint is dry, it’s time to apply the cardstock. Apply a good amount of modpodge and place the cardstock over the pumpkin that it fits on. Smooth down the cardstock. You can use a driver license/credit card to smooth out any bubbles.
I like to apply a thin coat of modpodge on top of the cardstock.
STEP 4:
Once everything is dry, we can add our finishing touches. First lets take the twine and glue and wrap it around the stem of the pumpkin.
Once that is done, we can add a leaf or flower.
Finishing our Dollar Tree Pumpkin:
It is so fun and easy to take something like the plain wooden pumpkin and make a beautiful, unique piece to display in your home!!
Thank you for joining me as we made this project. It is truly one of my most favorite things in this journey, be able to share these ideas and crafts with you.
Drop a picture below if you make this craft…I would love to see it!
Blessings always!!! Amanda

This is adorable! I have a bunch of scrap paper leftover from card making that would be perfect for this. I love the colors that you chose.
