Fall is in the air and with that comes all of the amazing aromas when cooking this time of year. My all-time favorite appliance in the kitchen, besides the blessed Keurig, is a crockpot. You can take all of your ingredients, put them into one pot and in a few hours have an amazing meal.

In the coming weeks, I hope to share with you some of my favorite crockpot recipes, including a few desserts. Today I am in the kitchen trying out this scrumptious Apple Spice Dump Cake. When I came across this recipe I knew that I had to try it but put my own little spin on it.
It has all of the fall favorites in it. From apples to pecans to cinnamon to raisins, add to all of that ice cream and caramel and you have got warm, gooey goodness in one pot! It does not get any easier or better than this. It has a minimum of three ingredients….apple pie filling, cake mix and butter with the optional add-ins like pecans or butterscotch pieces. Be sure to print off the recipe to add to your collection.
Apple Spice Dump Cake
Equipment
- Crock Pot
Ingredients
- 2 21 oz cans Apple Pie Filling
- 1 15.25 oz Spice Cake
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 c Butter, melted
- 1 c Pecans, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 c Raisins or Cranraisins ( optional)
- 1 c Butterscotch chips ( optional)
Instructions
- 1) Spray crock pot with non-stick cooking spray
- 2) Empty apple pie filling evenly in bottom of crock pot
- 3) Sprinkle cinnamon and pecans over apples
- 4) Evenly cover with Spice Cake
- 5) Drizzle melted butter on top and cover with lid
- 6) Cook on high for 2 hours, low for 4 hours
- 7) Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel. ENJOY!!
Notes
This is an easy recipe that is pretty delicious. If you ever find yourself short of time and need a quick dessert to fall back on, this is the dessert for you.
