You guys, I have a love of all things wood. If I see it and think I can make it, I will definitely give it a shot. Succeed or fail, at least I tried. On to the story…I do love to make things with wood, from barn quilts to signs to blanket ladders and more. While visiting all of the local vintage markets and fairs around here, I kept seeing these really cute candlestick holders made from old banister rails. So, in my brain, I wondered why you couldn’t make them for a fraction of the cost. So I came home, Googled DIY wooden candlestick holders and found all kinds of different ideas. SCORE for me!!!
The next day, not shocking, I was at Lowe’s Hardware looking at the different options that I could do. And the possibilities are endless. This project is relatively simple and not expensive at all.
Here is a supply list:
2 Wood Bun Feet
2 Square or Round Plaques (I bought a 1x4x6 board and cut 4×4 squares because I was making multiple candlesticks)
Wood Glue
Drill
Stain or Paint of choice (I used Minwax in Early American and Valspar Bright White)
I thought my favorite would be the stained one, as our home is more rustic, but I am leaning towards the white ones. They just kind of pop. What one is your favorite? I hope that you will try this project and please share with us here, on Facebook or Instagram how yours turned out. I do love these types of DIY’s, they are so fun and then you can say that you have a piece of decor that you made.
