It’s that time again!!! Spring is here!! And who LOVES a good Dollar Tree Craft?
Me, me, me!!!
Let’s jump right in today! This is a super fun and quick craft and all of my supplies either came from Dollar Tree or I already had on hand. And a little side note, I know, the Dollar Tree is no longer just $1. They are now $1.25. But their prices are still pretty cheap, right?
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Silver rectangle tray
- Wooden carrots, Dollar Tree has a set for garlands
- White paint or color of your choosing
- Cardstock, of choice or scrap fabric or both
- Mod Podge
- Rope (Dollar Tree)
- Moss (Dollar Tree)
- Hot glue gun
Dollar Tree Carrot Craft…
Steps:
Let’s start by painting the silver tray. I just did the outer edges but you can definitely paint the whole tray.
While the paint is drying, trace out the carrots on the cardstock or fabric that you want to use. Being a sewer, I had some scrap orange and gold polka-dotted fabric laying around, which I thought would be perfect for my carrots.
Once you’ve cut out the cardstock or fabric, apply a coat of mod podge onto the wooden carrots and cover with the cardstock or fabric you chose. Now put glue on the top part of the carrot, I used regular glue like Elmer’s or you can use a hot glue gun too. Once you got some glue on the top, gently apply the moss, this can be a little messy, for the top of your carrots. Now just let everything dry well.
Ok, y’all, let’s put this thing together!!
First, measure or trace out a piece of cardstock for the center part of the silver tray. Put some mod podge, yes…I think I own stock in mod podge, lol!! Place the cardstock into the center of the tray and smooth out any bubbles.
I used the hot glue gun for this next step, it’s faster. Starting on one side of the tray, put the glue along the inner edge and place the rope. Continue this step all the way around the inner edge.
Because I had two orange carrots and one white and gold, I glued the two orange ones first. And then glued the last one on top of them. And that’s it y’all!
I loved how this little Dollar Tree carrot craft turned out for my spring decor! And like always, you can alter it to your decor schemes!!
That is one of many reasons I love to do these quick DIYs with y’all! And don’t forget to share photos with us if you make any of these crafts. We love to see what you do and just how different everyone’s ideas can be.
Happy crafting my friends and blessings always!!!
